How to Season Cast Iron Cookware

Preparing easy healthy recipes requires having cookware you can depend on. There’s no need to have a kitchen crammed with pots and pans and cooking utensils stuffed into drawers and cabinets. Keep it simple and have on hand a few select pieces and you will be ready to cook just about anything. One important piece you may want to consider having is either a cast iron skillet or a combination cast iron pan/griddle.

Cast iron cookware makes a great investment because it will last a lifetime. It is heavy and very durable, the original nonstick cookware that works like a charm if it is well cared for. To keep cast iron in good working condition it needs to be seasoned occasionally. You can do this with a little oil and 2-3 hours in the oven.

To learn all that you need to know about caring for your cast iron skillet, griddle, or pan watch the video I have for you today by Rita Heikenfeld, a cooking expert. Enjoy!
